I can’t tell you how happy I am that the only way left to go is up. I made fresh steamed carrots for the kids two nights in a row. We are getting energized and ready for that uphill climb.

I can’t wait to see the blank fresh page when I turn back the cover of my new composition book.

Very interesting post. I’ll be hoping that you and your good friends have a wonderful and magical Winter Solstice celebration this year. May 2010 be a beautiful year for all of you.

The December 21st of my childhood years is intertwined with the memory of decorating the tree – because it was my mother’s birthday.

My Mom used to smilingly joke that she didn’t get as long to celebrate her birthday as other people did because her birthday was on the shortest day of the year! This used to confuse me when I was little, I didn’t understand how December 21st was any shorter than any other day of the year. So for many years, I thought that my mother chose to decorate the tree on her birthday, so she got to do something really neat in compensation for the fact that her birthday was shorter than all the other days of the year. :::rolleyes:::
